Dear President Donald Trump
Your Tariffs on imports are the ultimate insult to your 164+million American workforce, the
33+million American businesses they work for, the American Management, Presidents and
Owners of these American businesses and the American goods and services they produce.
It’s like you telling your American Son “You aren’t good for anything except being a garbage
collector.”
How is it that President Ronald Raegan, an Actor, could see the economic and financial folly
and destructive outcomes for the American Nation, but you a Property Tycoon appear to be
blind to this bleedingly obvious reality.
Of all 47 Presidents of the USA, you are logically the least likely to apply Tariffs on imports.
Tariffs are for week, incompetent and ineffective Leaders of Nations, who are unable to think
and comprehend that Tariffs are the slippery slide to depression.
The USA and the whole of the Western World Nations are not competitive at home and
abroad because EXISTING TAXES are too high a % of their SALES DOLLAR. In Australia
EXISTING TAXES are 50% of the PRICE of a loaf of bread, a new built house, a litre of fuel
and almost everything else. Do you know the % in America? If you don’t, this must be your
priority.
EXISTING TAXES on American wages/incomes/benefits destroy the incentive to work, be
efficient, effective and innovative to deliver a high level of productivity.
EXISTING TAXES on American business profits/capital gains force American business
managers and owners to work IN their businesses (NOT ON THEIR BUSINESSES) to
avoid/evade EXISTING TAXES to CUT COSTS and PRICES to increase SALES VOLUMES.
In the process they destroy the PERCEPTION of VALUE of ‘Made in America’ which detracts
from their appeal to American and Overseas Customers resulting in LOST SALES. Another
slippery slide to the bottom and insolvency.
During my visits to America, I have met Business Presidents and inspected their factories.
These People are proud Americans, many War Veterans, not to be misused and abused by
their President like this.
I have been a Chartered Accountant for over 62 years in Auditing for 11 years and in
Business Executive Management for 51 years in National and International Manufacturing,
Marketing and Sales, Coal Mining and Export, Banking, Consulting to Businesses in financial
trouble, Project Management to Government for the implementation of the Goods and
Services Tax and New Tax System, Tourism and Cattle Farming. I find it incomprehensible
that in 2025 you the 47th President of the USA are repeating the tragic Tariff mistakes of the
past because ‘Made in America’ is NOT competitive against ‘Made in Canada’, ‘Made in
Mexico’, ‘Made in Germany’, ‘Made in Australia’, Made in India’, ‘Made in China’ and
anywhere else in the World.
What you are doing is blaming the rest of the World for America’s failure in Economic and
Financial Management and Planning when you Americans only have yourselves to blame.
Please understand that Tariffs cannot change the Economic and Financial Mismanagement
of America. In fact, Tariffs degrade the PERCEPTION of VALUE of ‘Made in America’
collapsing SALES PRICES and VOLUMES. This sends America’s Volume/Cost/Price MIX
into a dive and destruction of ‘Made in America’.
With EXISTING TAXES taken OFF PRICES and only 2 cents in the dollar LIBERTY TAX
added to the reduced COSTS and PRICES, all EXISTING MONEY take-home-pays,
pensions, savings etc can buy much more goods and services at the reduced PRICES
inclusive of 2% LIBERTY TAX. All American can have the incentive for wealth creation to
buy-back America and be truly FREE in DEMOCRATIC America.
Imagine how Americans will celebrate when you implement 2% LIBERTY TAX, and ‘Made in
America’ can replace ‘Made in China and BRICS’. That will put a welcome smile on your
face.
Now is the TIME for 2% LIBERTY TAX to replace your Tariffs.
